I (Katie) got the chance to take full care of Kenyon and Angela. Angela was going to get married Oct 2 but found out the temple was closed and needed to change the date to the same day as another wedding we had on the books. No fear, I was able to do it and loved every moment of it. I loved taking their pictures and seeing how in love they are. See for yourself.

It was really hard to choose a favorite part of the play because the singing, acting and dancing was so fun and entertaining. Last week, Heritage Academy had their dance departments recital. I love the end of the year because the seniors get to choreograph some of the dances to earn their dance distinctions. Here is a clip of my favorite dance, it was REALLY hard to choose from because there was one called AFRICA that everyone loved but I choose D.A.R.E. because it was so different!

Awhile back we did Kristy & Jason's engagement photos. We had a total blast with them but they had already hired their photographer for their wedding. Well, a couple weeks ago Kristy contacted me and told me she got her pictures back and she was totally disappointed and wanted a RE-DO. We had so much fun with these guys making up words and creating new poses we're hoping they want to do it every year.

This was my vision and it totally worked out!!!

Kristy put these decals on the bottom of her shoes but she did them backwards and upside down. So we had her laying on the grass, on her stomach so we could get this awesome photo. Good times!

So ladies, it's NEVER too late to retake your weddings photos. Break out the wedding dress and shoes and let's have some fun! {And if you need some help convincing Mr.Husband I'll have Chris call him.}

Well, we risked it and decided to give the Pecan Groves one more try. We had called before and talked to someone who worked there and said that he didn't see a problem with it. There's two signs there saying "NO PHOTOGRAPHY" and we did it anyway and got called out by one of the residents. We didn't let it ruin our fun. We finished up the shoot and here are the results.

True Story

While engaged Chris and I registered for Fiddler on the Roof on DVD for our wedding. To our delight it was given to us and we watched it within the first couple weeks of being married. Every night before falling asleep one would start singing "do you lovvah me?" like Tevya. The other would shout "WHAT?!" and then whoever's turn it was to shout "what!" had to sing a verse "After 2 weeks being married..." and list off funny things so far encountered in our early marriage. Then in the end we would harmonize (sometimes we did pretty good!) "It's nice to know..." After 6 1/2 years we still sing it to each other and Fiddler has held a special spot in our heart.

Heritage Academy put this play on just last weekend and it was fantastic. I mean really, really, really amazing. I'll probably post a couple more clips of the play since I just can't pick a favorite. Here's Tevya and Golde singing "Do you love me?"

As a bonus, here is a little backstage footage of the kids. I LOVE going to Heritage and filming these guys. They totally crack me up and after filming there the last 4 years this is the most bizarre clip of them I have ever seen.

Since Cassie and Landon live in Utah but are getting married in Mesa they had to do their wedding pictures early (by over a month). It turned out to be a really fun shoot despite the crowded temple on a Saturday late afternoon. There were at least 5 other couples taking pictures and we even had visitors from the Easter Pageant join us for some fun. We had the whole LHS team together so each of us were taking turns taking pictures, videoing and playing assistant.

Cassie had the idea to do this awesome pose and Chris caught it perfectly!

On Saturday we went down to the temple and did Rachel & Justin's wedding photos. It was a TOTAL blast. Rachel looked amazing in her dress and you could tell Justin loved just looking at her. Bethany always dreamed of having wedding pictures done in a forest of trees. I was all about taking advantage of this said dream. The weekend we had planned on going there was a huge snowfall in Flagstaff. So instead of going to Payson we headed that direction instead. Here are the results.

Here is a beautiful wedding reception we were hired to photograph. The couple was married in the bahamas and had their reception at their apartment complex a few months later. It was just a happy, beautiful easy going reception and I loved all the details that she put together. It's not every day you see hot pink and orange as wedding colors!

I've been married for 6 years now and haven't really done anything with my wedding photos. We just had an uncle take them for us right after the ceremony, and as I hope you know, they just didn't turn out that great. But at least I have something, right?

Photoshop has become my friend and I have been having fun experimenting with techniques and ways to make me love my wedding photos. I scanned these little gems into my computer and went to town... so here they are!

This couple had a super cute idea for their invitations! They wanted to send a photobooth strip with their invitation to showoff their fun relationship. We sat them down and had them change act as if in a photobooth when the machine takes a photo every 5 seconds. Not only did it turn out super cute but it was a lot of fun! We took this awesome family to Las Sendas two weeks before Christmas on a Sunday and it must have been the official day to take family photos for Christmas because this neighborhood was CROWDED! We had to wait for-ev-ER to use the rock in front of the fountain. The kids were tons of fun to work with and Chris and I just laughed the whole time as they would lovingly tease their mom about her smile. (Which is beautiful!) We had a blast!!!

After Neverland

Twice a year we get the opportunity to film Heritage Academy's dance concerts. The director always blows me away with her talent of putting together a theme for all the dance classes. This semester's theme was "After Neverland", with readings from the J.M. Barrie book Peter Pan. I loved the sweetness of the mother/daughter dances. I had several favorites, but my top two were "You are Loved" which had sign language mixed in with the dance, and the very last dance called "Full Circle". Both brought tears to my eyes being a daughter and a mother of two beautiful girls.

Before the show I always walk around back stage and get the girls getting ready and being silly! Enjoy! And thanks Ladies for the sharing your amazing talent!

LHS had the amazing opportunity to film Queen Creek community's theatre production of The Jungle Book. I am BLOWN AWAY by how great it was. It had over 100 cast members of (TALENTED) kids ages ranging from 5 to 18. The costumes were great, the dancing was fun and the singing was perfect. I really enjoyed the show! My Grandfather passed away a week ago. He was 92 years old. I made a video when his wife, my grandmother, passed away 2 years ago. I will now get to put both videos together on one DVD to share with the family. The video is about 10 mins long but so if you get the chance watch the last 5 mins to get a sense of how much he was/is loved by his family.
